Laura Wadding, Partner, Regulatory Risk, Deloitte
Laura is a Partner in the Irish firm’s Risk and Regulation team, within the Risk Advisory Department, specialising in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance and Culture in financial services.
Laura began her career in the funds sector more than 20 years ago and has held roles in investor services and compliance in INVESCO, PFPC and BNP Paribas Securities Services. She holds a Degree in Law from the Institute of Technology and a Diploma in Compliance from the Institute of Bankers.
Laura joined the Irishfunds Transfer Agency committee many years ago and has since played an active role in the development of industry initiatives, in particular, the introduction of FATCA, the development of the Investor Money Regulations for fund service providers, the evolving Anti-Money Laundering landscape and the regulatory expectations around Outsourcing.
Laura currently chairs the Irishfunds Operational Steering Group, with responsibility for coordinating the efforts of 8 working groups – AML, Transfer Agency, Regulatory Reporting, Legal, Depository, Financial Reporting, Heads of Operations and Internal Audit.
Since joining Deloitte, Laura has worked with a range of Asset Management and Asset Servicing firms to support them in the delivery of key regulatory projects with a focus on areas such as AML, IMR, MiFID, Outsourcing, CP86. Laura has worked with firms on their Governance & Risk Management submissions to the CBI in support of their Brexit applications and also in response to CBI inspection.
Laura is committed to Irishfunds and its members, and the leading role that Ireland plays in the sector globally. She has the right balance of operational, regulatory and advisory experience to make a valuable impact in a leadership role on council.

Melissa Scully, Director, Corporate Governance Leader, Deloitte
Melissa is a Director in our Risk Advisory practice and leads our Deloitte Ireland Centre for Corporate Governance. Melissa specialises in Board effectiveness and corporate governance across all industries, and brings insight into the challenges facing Boards and Directors. Her clients range from public sector organisations and financial services institutions to FTSE 100 companies. She has delivered over 75 Board effectiveness and governance engagements across Ireland and Europe to include: conducting independent Board effectiveness reviews, providing advisory support for companies going through IPO, developing governance policy frameworks and designing governance structures and processes. She also undertakes benchmarking exercises for many companies keen to meet current standards for best practice and bespoke training for Boards and committees.

Rose Kennedy, Director, Risk Advisory, Deloitte
Rose is a Director in Deloitte’s Risk Advisory Department with over 15 years experience working in financial services. Rose specialises in regulatory advisory in all aspects of financial services regulation advising a wide range of both domestic and international financial institutions, including credit institutions, investment firms, payment institutions and insurance companies. Rose has extensive experience engaging directly with Irish, UK and other European regulators.
Rose is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (“FCA”) and holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce from UCD. She is a Licentiate of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland (“LCOI”) and holds a Diploma in Forensic Accounting with Chartered Accountants of Ireland. Rose is the Chair of the Association of Compliance Officers Ireland (“ACOI”) Prudential Regulation and Governance Working Group and a member of the ACOI EPDS Committee.
