Anthony Prendergast, Assistant Commissioner, Large-Scale Inquiries and Investigations Unit, Data Protection Commission
Having joined the Civil Service in 2019, Anthony served as an Administrative Officer in the Department of Health from 2019 to 2021, working in the Department’s Corporate Legislation Unit on Covid-19 Primary and Secondary Legislation. Following this, Anthony joined the Data Protection Commission as a Data Protection Executive in 2021, working in the Commission’s Cross-Border Complaint Handling Unit, dealing primarily with Article 15 GDPR Access Request complaints, and Article 17 GDPR ‘Right to be Forgotten’ complaints. Now an Assistant Commissioner working in the DPC’s Large-Scale Inquiries and Investigations Unit, Anthony works on a number of statutory inquiries involving some of the largest data controllers who have their European Headquarters in Ireland.
