Topic: DORA

 

The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is a European Union (EU) Regulation which will apply from 17 January 2025. DORA introduces significant new obligations in relation to cyber security, operational resilience, and the management of third-party ICT risks across the financial services sector in the EU.

 

This session will cover:

• The Overview of DORA including 5 key pillars

• Implementation Challenges

• Practical insights on how to approach DORA implementation including topics such as:

    • Register of Information

    • ICT Third Party Risk

    • Role of the Board and Senior Management

    • Incident Management

    • Subcontracting

    • Testing

Claire O'Connor, Senior Associate, William Fry

Claire O'Connor is a Senior Associate in William Fry's Technology and Fintech Group. Claire advises on all aspects of technology, commercial contracts, outsourcing and data protection matters with a focus on the financial services sector. Claire has specific experience in advising on the Digital Operational Resilience Act including in the context of outsourcing and intra-group services arrangements. With a background in financial services, Claire also has extensive experience in providing advice on Central Bank of Ireland requirements and expectations.

Brendan Ennis, Associate Director, Consulting at Grant Thornton Ireland

Brendan joined Grant Thornton in 2016 and is an Associate Director within the Technology Risk Consulting Team. Across 2023 and 2024, Brendan has led multiple engagements and supported organisations within Banking, Insurance and Investment Management sectors with understanding, assessing and embedding the requirements of DORA.
