In recognition of International Women’s Day 2023 the Compliance Institute’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee will celebrate #EmbraceEquity with a panel discussion centered around a gender equal world; a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive and where difference is valued and celebrated.

 

The discussion will focus on:

How to advance gender equality in the workplace;

Educating and raising awareness for women's equality;

How to fuel a positive culture for women;

Building a sense of belonging;

The difference between equality and equity; and

What we all can do to eliminating discrimination.

 

The Compliance Institute's CPD Programme is designed specially to support the compliance professional in developing the skills and competences required to perform their role and is also a requirement to maintain your Compliance Institute designation. Claudette Whyte, Board Director, Senior Financial Crime Compliance Professional, Diversity & Inclusion Advocate

Claudette Whyte has been a Compliance Institute Member since 2015 and is a Fellow of the Compliance (FCI), Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) and Certified Financial Crime Professional (CFCP), having completed the MSc in Compliance provided by IOB and awarded by UCD. Claudette works as a Senior Compliance Officer at JP Morgan. Prior to this, she worked in various positions in Compliance, Legal and Forensic Investigation.

Kate Butler, Inclusion and Diversity Lead at Bank of Ireland

Kate is the Inclusion and Diversity Leader for Bank of Ireland and is passionate about combining culture, data, innovation and leadership to create a workplace where people feel welcome, included and thriving. She is really proud of the transformational and enduring culture change delivered to date, particularly through I&D colleague networks and external accreditations and partnerships. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland having trained in KPMG prior to joining the Bank. She has held a range of leadership positions across Finance, Investor Relations and People Services. She sits on the I&D committee for Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland and is a member of the 30% Club Financial Services Working Group. She lives in Dublin with her husband and three small kids.

Gillian Harford, Country Executive at 30% Club Ireland

Gillian Harford is a senior HR Executive who works directly with client organisations focusing on diversity and workplace change.  Sponsored by EY she also operates as the Country Executive for the 30% Club, a global campaign supported by Chairs and CEOs driving gender balance on Boards and at cSuite.  Gillian is the former Head of HR Strategy & Planning with AIB where, with a career spanning almost 40 years, she has been responsible for significant people change with particular focus on Culture, Career, Diversity and Agile Work. Gillian holds a BA, an MBA from Michael Smurfit Business School UCD, and the Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance, UCD.   She is a member of the Institute of Directors, fellow of CIPD, and a fellow of the Institute of Bankers.  Gillian is a member of the Board for the Central Remedial Clinic and an Advisory Group member for the government-based initiatives Balance for Better Business and the Women in Finance Charter.
